Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys won’t need a loan anytime soon given that he is rich and famous. But sometimes the price of fame can be steep, as proven in a video of Jerry Jones drunk that has taken the Internet by storm. Shot with a cell phone camera, the Jerry Jones drunk video involves some juicy comments about Tim Tebow, Bill Parcells and Tony Romo.
Jerry Jones Drunk caught by Cell phone sneak
The Jerry Jones drunk video was shot in an unidentified bar, where Jones was knocking back a few cocktails with some unknown drinking buddies. Some patron decided to use his phone to secretly shoot Jones as he answered questions about Parcells, Tebow, and Romo. The video first showed up on Deadspin.com, which no doubt will collect a big pay day from all the attention.
What is on Jerry Jones mind
Within the video, Jerry Jones is heard calling Tony Romo a “miracle,” even though numerous fans of the Cowboys would clearly disagree if they have memories of Super Bowl winners Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. The picture quality is very poor. You are able to barely see Jones within the poor lighting and grainy picture quality. But the audio is priceless.
Jerry Jones was letting the whiskey do his talking
The Jerry Jones video of him drunk isn’t the first time the man from Arkansas has titillated Texans with alcohol fueled commentary. After winning the 1993 Super Bowl, media reports showed Jones saying, “any one of 500 coaches could have won those Super Bowls” referring to the played Jones himself signed and drafted. At a cocktail party Jones told reporters that he intended to replace Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, an old college buddy, with former University of Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer. The morning after that he said it “was the whiskey talking.”The morning after that happened, he said is “was the whiskey talking.”
Jerry Jones drunkenly disses Tebow and Parcells
In the Jerry Jones drunk video, the Cowboys owner said that college phenom Tim Tebow would never get on the field if Dallas drafted him. Off camera, someone said that Jones could draft Tebow just to sell the jerseys if he owned the Jacksonville Jaguars. The conversation then turns juicy. Jones then says “That’s why I brought it Parcells.” Apparently, bringing in Parcells was the signal Cowboys supporters needed to help Jones build his new stadium. His opinion of Parcells: “Bill’s not worth a bleep. I love him.”
Minions of Jerry Jones keeping their mouths shut
The Cowboys’ director of public relations, Rich Dalrymple, told the Dallas Morning News that there was no comment from the club. The Dallas Morning News could not reach Parcells, who resigned from the Cowboys after the 2006 season, for a comment, but he has described his relationship with Jones as friendly. Jones’ drunken rambling could very well get him in trouble with the NFL. Owners and players in the league have a strict personal conduct policy to follow made by Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner. Get out your credit card, Jerry.
Jerry Jones puts money, and foot in mouth
With his mouth, Jones has gotten himself into trouble with the league before. After Jones criticized publicly referee Ed Hochuli after Hochuli made a controversial call in a game between the Denver Broncos and also the San Diego Charger, Jones was fined $ 25,000 on Sept. 14, 2008. On his radio show, he said Hochuli was one of probably the most criticized officials within the NFL. In 2009, Jones ended up drawing a six figure fine for violating a gag order on labor issues.
